About Us
Future Leaders Working (F.L.W.) is a nonprofit organization that identifies, supports, and develops young parents in Mobile County and the City of Mobile. F.L.W. was formed in 2022 when there was a need recognized for a dedicated program assisting young parents in transitioning into administrative professionals in the workforce. F.L.W. members are committed to creating opportunities for our young parents by providing training, mentoring, and networking opportunities.

Frequently Asked Questions
1. How do I apply for the program?
We accept up to 12 students a year on a first come, first accepted basis. You can apply via bit.ly/flwacademy.
2. Is there a cost for the students?
No, the cost is Complimentary. Our young parents are educated based on the Community Support. Tuition, certification cost, and materials and supplies are covered by foundational grants, community donations, and FLW annual signature fundraisers.
3. How long is the program?
The Future Leaders Working Academy (FLWA) 2.0: Desks to Drills program is 15 weeks in duration. However, we work and support the young parents for One Full Year.
4. What certifications are available for young parents?
There are five certifications for the young parent to take: Alabama Career Essentials; International Code Council - Certified Permit Technician; Microsoft Office Excel and Word; and Occupational Safety Health Administration (OSHA) 10.
5. Does this program accept Dads (Men)?
Yes, of course we do! We have both Mommies and Daddies in our class. Make sure to apply for the program via bit.ly/flwacademy. Have more questions, please email [email protected].
